The Fall of Five

My reading response for my current independent reading is about  The Fall of Five by Pittacus Lore. In this book there is point of views from Four (John), Sam, and Seven (Marina). I really like this multiple point of views because threw out the book you could see how multiple people feel about a certain situation. Another thing I noticed in this book is how the author made the characters grow closer through conflicts. I really liked seeing the characters grow closer because I like seeing developments through series.

One theme I noticed in this book was the "you keep trying even if you think you can't win." I saw this same theme in the first book too which was I am Number Four.  I think I can incorporate this into my everyday life because I do so many sports. I can incorporate this in sports like cross country and track because I know that I am probably not going to win the race but if keep trying one day I will. I think everyone should try and use this theme in their life. This book was a great overall book that I think just adds another reason why people should read the Lorien Legacy series.

  1. I also read this book. I agree with you about the multiple points of view, I liked that the reader did this. Also, good insight about the theme.

Reading Reflection Week One

The one book I read over the summer is The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore. This book is based in modern time in two different places. The book is written from two point of views, the two point of views the author uses is Marina and John. I really liked how the author did two point of views because I liked how you could see two point of views who were not in he same country. One strategy I used while reading this was reading 30 pages per day. This strategy really helped me not have to read a bunch of pages on the last week of summer but I could read a couple of pages a day and hang out with friends too. Another strategy I used was that I took notes on the books so I could remember the book at the beginning of the school year. One theme I noticed in this book is adversity. You notice this multiple times whenever John and Marina face Mogodorians or other forces against them. Another theme I noticed is team ship you see this when John, Six, and Sam work together and feed off each oth...

Story in the Summer Week Two

I was at my house with my friend Ben. Ben and I decided to go outside and play basketball. We decided to play horse. It was a close game but I beat Ben in the game even though Ben is a lot better then me at basketball. Ben was really angry because I won by making a shot that I probably I would never make again.  Ben and I then decided to play a one on one game to twenty-one. I went up twelve to four then Ben started to make a comeback and had the game within four points. I then hit a three in which put me up on Ben fifteen to eight. I eventually one the game twenty-one to seventeen. I was happy because I usually never beat Ben in basketball because he has played it a lot longer then I did.

Hit and Misses

I feel like this English year went well for me. I did have some misses with the hits. So one miss I felt I had this year was the literary analysis on Lord of the Flies. I felt like the literary analysis was a miss for me because I was awful at the literary analysis, I really just found the analysis hard and confusing to me. Another miss for me was the research paper. I found the research paper to be awful because it took up all my time for homework and it was hard to do work in other classes.      I had some hits this year. I felt the personal narrative to be a hit of mine because it was a easy paper for me to write because it was based on something personal to me not, something I researched or read. Another hit for me this year where the blogs because I found them to be an easy way to twenty points and a way to improve my writing.
