Purple Hibiscus Reponse

The book Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche has been a very delightful and fascinating book to read. So far in the story we have seen different ways of culture throughout the whole book. Such as the native foods and drinks Sisi makes for the family, some of the foods are Jollof Rice, cashew juice, and mango juice. We see Nigerian culture also through the market where Kambili, her mom and Jaja go. She describes the market of being very busy and filled with different types of vendors and shops. The culture is very different than the culture I am used to in America. I think Adiche makes the culture very evident in this book for a reason so that people that are not from Nigeria learn Nigerian culture while reading.      Tradition plays a large part in the book too. Such as the tradition that the whole family must go to the alter and receive communion. When Jaja does not receive communion it makes his father very angry because Jaja broke a family tradition. Another family tra

Free Post - Poem(Fortnite)

We get on the bus. Where should we go Tilted Towers, Loot Lake, maybe even Lucky Landing. We eventually decide Tilted is the best option. We jump with 20 other random people A four man squad versus 20 people We land and get all the loot. We engage in battle and wipe a squad. We eventually wipe all the squads. We mine and mine all the resources. We run to a mountain to make our base. We see 5 people left. It's us against one. I see him I shoot. We win! Victory Royale!

Song Analysis: Africa by Toto

The song I choose to analyze was Africa by Toto. The songs has a lot of techniques that it uses within the song. One technique the song uses is a simile in the line "As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti," this lyrics give life to the song because when you listen you here two things that you do not usually put together. This technique adds to the overall interpretation of the song because the song is kind of boring before this point but then you hear this simile and the song brightens and gives us a poetic verse. The effect this lyric has in the song is that is gives the song life and makes the song better. This technique added to my overall interpretation of the song because it made the song more interesting and made me want to research why they used this lyric and what poetic device it used.      Another technique it uses in verse one is sibilance because it repeats and has the letter "s" a lot. This technique helped with my overall

Poem: Mountain farmer

I was staying in a snowy mountain lodge on Monday, with the realization of learning that I must wake at the crack of dawn to the sounds of chicken crows. I wake up to miss the kiss of my wife which would be nice. I am sad, sour, and sore with the sound of snakes hissing. They only hiss at me, or am I the only thing they see no that cant be. Because my family is here with me, to run the farm with so the whole world can see. Techniques used: Assonance, sibilance, euphony, cacophony

Free Post- Shaquem Griffin

Shaquem Griffin has had a bunch of buzz around his name every since is outstanding performance in the NFL Combine this year. Griffin ran a 4.38 forty-yard dash, which was the fast forty-yard dash time for a linebacker. Griffin did a twenty repetitions of a 225 pound weight. Shaquem also did great in the drills were you show off you skills in your actual position. People were really surprised when Griffin did all of these great things at the combine because he had to have his arm amputated at the age of four.      Griffin showed everyone that if you really shrive for something that you can do it. Griffin's performance at the combine is very inspiring because it showed me that if you work hard at anything it can happens. You just have to try your hardest at practice and never give up on your dreams and anything can happen.

Launch

Launch was a day full of fun and great presentations by seniors at Episcopal. I really liked all of the Launch presentations, but one presentation I really like was the presentation by Jack Melton. Jack's presentation was really interesting to me because it was about the Cajun Navy and the impact they had in Hurricane Harvey compared to the little help people had in Hurricane Katrina. The presentation started off with a really sad video that showed really how devastating Hurricane Katrina was. This really hit close home to me because my grandparents were living in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, luckily they got out of New Orleans before the hurricane hit.     Jack then explained how the Cajun Navy helped with multiple mobile apps. Jack had an example with a call some placed in Houston during Hurricane Harvey and the Cajun Navy came to save the lady who was in flood water. After this presentation and seeing all the Cajun Navy did shows me that every perso
