Dialogue

"Where were you last night?",  Mrs. Edwards asked.  Mike responded, "I went to the movies with John and Jack to see the new Star Wars movie at 8:50." Mrs. Edwards asked, "Then why were you seen at Henry's house at 11:00 o'clock ?" Mike said, "We all went to his house after to go swim in his pool." Mrs. Edwards asked, "Why was the cops called?" Mike said, "I wasn't there whenever the cops were called." "Then why did the report say the cops were called because of Mike Edwards?' , Mrs. Edwards asked.  "The cops were called because Jack and I got into a small fight. I'll go to my room." Mike said.

Personal Narrative

My personal narrative is about the flood. I am happy to be that I am able too write about my experience with the flood because I never really got to tell anyone about my experience. I am also happy that I am learning how to use vivid details in my writing. One question I have is How could I incorporate more vivid details in my writing? Also How can I incorporate dialogue in my writing? Some advice I would like from my classmates is how did you all incorporate dialogue in your writing. Overall I am really happy to start a class assignment that I think will help me in my whole high school education.

Dear 10 year old

Dear 10 year old spend as much time with your grandpa as you can. Spend as much time with him because before you know it he won't be able to go walk around the town with you. Go on the as many dog walks with him and Cassie as you can because soon Cassie won't be here and Grandpa won't be able to walk around anymore. Go to the World War 2 museum as many time as you want because you will have some of the best times with your Grandpa. Spend as much time with your grandpa because he's going to be diagnosed with Parkinson's soon. Dear 10 year old play defense in lacrosse. Play defense because you are going too in play it 2 years. Also you are a lot better at defense then you are at midfield. I know you feel that midfield is the best position but it isn't play defense.

The Revenge of Seven

The reading response book I am doing is The Revenge of Seven by Pittacus Lore. In this book I really like the multiple point of views like in all of the other book. The only book that I've read in the series that doesn't have multiple point of views is I am Number Four .  The multiple point of views are from are from Four (John), Ella, and Six.  Another thing I like in this book is how the characters work together to defeat a common goal. In this book the players face a lot of adversity, overcome it, and work together like a great team. I think you can learn from this book if you are in any type of team because it shows great team and how well they work together. I think you can learn many things from all the books in the Lorien Legacy books in daily life.

Hurricane Katrina

On August 23, 2005 Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas. Meteorologists were able to warn people and the evacuations started by the 28th of August. New Orleans was at risk with the city average elevation being six feet below sea level and being surrounded with water. The mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin issued a mandatory city evacuation. Mayor Ray Nagin also said that the Superdome would server a last resort for people who couldn't leave the city. In the morning of August 29, the storm hit and left about 9 meters of rain. By 9 am, low lying places like the Ninth Ward and St. Bernard Parish were under water. Nearly 80% of the city had taken in some type of water. The Coast Guard rescued 34,000 people. This storm was one of the worst the world has seen and left many people without homes. Link to article

The Fall of Five

My reading response for my current independent reading is about   The Fall of Five by Pittacus Lore. In this book there is point of views from Four (John), Sam, and Seven (Marina). I really like this multiple point of views because threw out the book you could see how multiple people feel about a certain situation. Another thing I noticed in this book is how the author made the characters grow closer through conflicts. I really liked seeing the characters grow closer because I like seeing developments through series.  One theme I noticed in this book was the "you keep trying even if you think you can't win." I saw this same theme in the first book too which was I am Number Four.  I think I can incorporate this into my everyday life because I do so many sports. I can incorporate this in sports like cross country and track because I know that I am probably not going to win the race but if keep trying one day I will. I think everyone should try and use this theme in the
