One Piece of Textual Evidence

My thesis for the literary evidence is William Golding uses the islands progression from being a resourceful and good island to a complete war zone to symbolize the boy’s loss of a civilization and a well-organized group. My textual evidence is how at the end the island is a complete fire pit and war zone and at the same time Jack and his group is trying to kill Ralph and put his head on a stick. This is also after the boys has killed Simon and Piggy. The island being a fire pit symbolizes how the boys have loss their civilization and group in flames. William Golding uses the island as a huge symbolic object for the boys loss of the civilization and the main person who made them lose it is Jack.

How has Wisconsin been left out of the playoffs?

The Wisconsin Badgers have eleven wins and zero losses, but they are not in the college playoffs if it started right now. The Badgers are currently ranked fifth in the nation behind Alabama who is number one, Clemson who is number two, Miami who is number three, and Oklahoma who is number four. Alabama and Miami both deserve to be in the playoffs because they do not have a loss, but Oklahoma lost game and Clemson lost a game. First off Clemson should not be in over Wisconsin  because they lost to a Syracuse team who has not shown to be good in any aspect of the game. Secondly, Oklahoma should not be ahead of Wisconsin because they lost to Iowa State who had a good team but not good enough to beat Oklahoma who has the top Heisman candidate in Baker Mayfield.      So a Wisconsin team who beat a good Michigan team and Iowa team decisively by scores of twenty-four to ten and thirty-eight to fourteen. Also Wisconsin has a great running back in Jonathan Taylor who is also a Heisman c

[Piggy:] "I don't agree with all Jack said, but with some.  'Course there isn't a beast in the forest.  How could there be?  What would a beast eat?" "Pig." "We eat pig." "Piggy!" "I got the conch!" said Piggy indignantly.  "Ralph--they ought to shut up, oughtn't they?  You shut up, you littluns!  What I mean is that I don't agree about this here fear.  Of course there isn't nothing to be afraid of in the forest.  Why--I been there myself!  You'll be talking about ghosts and such things next.  We know what goes on and if there's something wrong, there's someone to put it right." He took off his glasses and blinked at them.  The sun had gone as if the light had been turned off. [...] "Life," said Piggy expansively, "is scientific, that's what it is.  In a year or two when the war's over they'll be traveling to Mars and back.  I know there isn't no beast--not wit

Symbolism

Every Saturday Bill would go to the gas station with his friends. Bill would always get the same thing a bottle of soda and a chocolate candy bar, while his friends John and Mike would always just get a soda. A soda was four dollars and a chocolate bar was one dollar.  Bill never knew why they did not get food with their soda. They would always bike the three miles there and back in about 30 minutes. Once they got to Delaware Street Bill, Mike, and John would take a left to their houses and where all neighbots. Bill went back a house with his parents and two sisters and started away at his chores.  Mike and John also went back to their parents and siblings but played video games.      Bill would swept the house, fed the animals, and cleaned the dishes each day. Once Bill was done with that he went and walked dogs for all the elderly people in his neighborhood. Bill only earned about five dollars each week and Mike and John earned four. Mike and John did not do nearly as much wo

While reading Lord of the Flies, I have noticed patterns, character development, and multiple questions. One pattern I have noticed is how throughout the whole books the boys start to lose civilization and order. It starts off with Jack and his urge to kill pigs and nothing else, and then all the other boys follow along and take place in weird rituals. Some character development is with Ralph and his leadership. At the beginning of the book, Ralph was not a great leader but know he is and is leading the boys and making sure everything is running smoothly.     Some questions that have arrived throughout the book for me is What is Piggy and Ralph's relationship like and Who is the Lord of the Flies. I think Ralph and Piggy's relationship is complicated because they are friends at the beginning, then Jack comes and persuades Ralph to be mean to Piggy, and once Jack leaves they get to become friends again. So I think Ralph and Piggy are like the friends who never get along a
