While reading Lord of the Flies, I have noticed patterns, character development, and multiple questions. One pattern I have noticed is how throughout the whole books the boys start to lose civilization and order. It starts off with Jack and his urge to kill pigs and nothing else, and then all the other boys follow along and take place in weird rituals. Some character development is with Ralph and his leadership. At the beginning of the book, Ralph was not a great leader but know he is and is leading the boys and making sure everything is running smoothly.
Some questions that have arrived throughout the book for me is What is Piggy and Ralph's relationship like and Who is the Lord of the Flies. I think Ralph and Piggy's relationship is complicated because they are friends at the beginning, then Jack comes and persuades Ralph to be mean to Piggy, and once Jack leaves they get to become friends again. So I think Ralph and Piggy are like the friends who never get along and always argue. I figured out the Lord of the Flies is a pig head on a stick who Simon thinks is talking to him. I think the Lord of the Flies has a bigger meaning in that it is the evil inside of us and that no one can beat.
